Wassily Kandinsky

Russian-born painter and art theorist, widely regarded as one of the pioneers of pure abstract art. A co-founder of the influential Der Blaue Reiter group and a teacher at the Bauhaus, he believed that art could express spiritual truths through color, form, and line without representing the physical world.
